Here at Cake HQ we have decided to write a pledge to you!
Both Dom and I love to bake and we look forward to sharing our homemade loveliness with you. We aim to create a community of like minded people who love homemade cakes and treats. If you don’t have the time or skill to bake or would just like a slice of something delicious without the temptation of a whole cake to polish off then this is the club for you.
We bake all of the cakes by hand in the Cake Tasting HQ kitchen which has a five star cleanliness rating. Our cakes are always traditionally handmade as if you had baked them at home.
We always use proper ingredients just like you would use and our eggs are always free range. We include a detailed list of ingredients in each box but those with allergies please note that we do bake with nuts and other allergens in our kitchen. Therefore there is a possibility of contamination even if the ingredient isn’t listed. If you have any questions regarding ingredients (or anything else) then please do get in touch.
The Cake Tasting Club is subscription based. This helps us to reduce waste and ensure that we can get our bakes to you as fresh as possible. This means we can bake exactly what has been ordered and ship it immediately. I can guarantee you nothing is ever wasted!! There’s nothing better than cake offcuts!
Our cakes and other bakes will always be super delicious. Each month the box is a surprise mix of flavours. Please do let us know if you have any ideas for future boxes. You never know, we may pick your bake!
Head baker Dom is a master of flavour. All of her bakes are amazing and she will continue to experiment and push the boundaries to give you something new and exciting to try. Her brownies are legendary so we will always try to feature one type of brownie (or even a blondie) in our classic box. I think there may be complaints if we didn’t!
We promise that we will not repeat any of our bakes for at least 12 months to give you as much variety as possible.

Welcome to the wild and fun world of The Cake Tasting Club. We love all things cake based and hope you do too! The Cake Tasting Club is run by Vikki and Dom, two busy mums who wing it through the day anyway possible and enjoy settling down after the little kippers have gone to sleep (Pleeeease go to sleep!) with a hot chocolate and slice of cake, or brownie, or cookie, or biscuit, or…you get the picture!
This first month has been crazy! Lovely crazy, but crazy. We have created our initial test boxes which we sent to a variety of lovely businesses and bloggers who were all so kind and seemed to like gobbling our bakes (hooray!). Our brownies were especially well recieved, but we all know anything chocolate based always wins right?! Thanks everyone for your honest feedback; we definitely take it into account and appreciate it. Our test box included salted caramel and choc chip brownies, lemon curd loaf cake and jammie heart biscuits. Each month’s box will be a lovely surprise and it will always be a great selection of deliciousness!
Also this month the local paper printed a little article about us which was amazing! They wanted a photo of us but we were too shy so opted for a cheeky photo of our cakes instead! I’d rather look at cake anyway, wouldn’t you?
So far we seem to be functioning reasonably capably on social media which is a win for two not so technical gals – Instagram is not as scary as once thought! Although all tips greatly appreciated. Trying to take lots of attractive photos with a toddler hanging off you does however present its challenges…! (but a filter makes everything better thankfully).
Last Monday we sent out our first real boxes to our subscribers which was super exciting. These consisted of Oreo and veggie marshmallow brownies (all our bakes are always 100% vegetarian) raspberry ripple loaf cake and mini chocolate chip cookies. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it, yum yum. Thanks for sharing photos people! We love to see that our boxes have got to you safe and sound.
So it’s all been go go go here at The Cake Tasting Club HQ, and a very exciting time onwards and upwards! We have lots of plans for the future including this fabulous blog which will hopefully be a regular interesting insight into our wacky world. We have lots of competitions coming up (sign up for our newsletter and every month somebody wins a free box!). We will be sharing recipes with you and would love you to share some with us.
